Zeit für meinen wöchentlichen Post hier! Diese Woche war erneut sehr spannend, wiedermal waren zwei wichtige Programmpunkte Hockey, am Mittwoch und Samstag. Leider haben wir es wieder nicht geschafft für diese Woche eine reine Weste zu behalten, gab es am Mittwoch noch einen Sieg zuhause gegen Eastern mussten wir uns Samstag Lebanon Valley geschlagen geben (habe euch die Spielberichte verlinkt). Letzteres Spiel war insbesondere frustrierend, weil wir in der zweiten Hälfte klar das bessere Team waren, unser Aufholjagd aber leider zu spät begann.
In Sachen Studium gibt es nicht viel neues zu berichten, ich schlage mich so durch und so langsam kristallisiert sich ein Wochenplan heraus, der auch etwas Freizeit zulässt. Diese Freizeit habe ich dann heute auch direkt genutzt und mich in Philly mit Russel getroffen. Russel und ich haben uns im Juli beim Osaka U16 6-Nationen Turnier in Antwerpen getroffen, das wir beide pfeifen durften. Russel war nun beruflich in Philadelphia und wir hatten einen tollen Tag mit Mittag in Terminal Market. Dir, Russel, einen Guten Weiterflug nach Las Vegas, hoffentlich sieht man sich in nicht allzu ferner Zeit nochmal wieder!
Achso, das typische college cliche besteht natürlich auch zu einem nicht unbeträchtlichen Teil aus Parties, und ja, wir haben Parties auch hier in Haverford, wenn auch wahrscheinlich nicht so viele wie so Mancher in Deutschland wohl denkt. Eine von diesen Parties war gestern, abgesehen von den nahezu unerträglichen Temperaturen, war der Abend mit dem Hockey Team wirklich sehr lustig. Allerdings muss man wohl festhalten, dass die Vorbereitung auf die Party wohl der lustigste Teil des Abends war.

Time for my weekly blog post! This week has been another amazing week here at Haverford and again two important events were field hockey, on Wednesday and Saturday. Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep a clean record for this week again, while defeating Eastern at home on Wednesday, we lost to Lebanon Valley on Saturday (I have linked the match reports for you). the Saturday game was particularly frustrating as we clearly were the better team in the second half, but our comeback just started too late.
There is not much new to tell about my studies, I get along and slowly a weekly work plan takes shape that even allows some free time. Just today I made use of some of this free time meeting with Russel in Philly. Russel and I met in July at the Osaka U16 6-Nations Tournament, where we had the pleasure to umpire together. Russel was on a business trip to Philadelphia and took some time off to meet with me. We had a great day including lunch at Terminal Market. Have a safe flight to Las Vegas, hopefully we'll have another chance to meet soon.
By the way, the typical college cliche probably also includes lots of parties, and yes, we do have parties here at Haveford, probably not as many as some people back home might assume though. One of this parties took place yesterday night and, leaving apart the almost unbearable temperatures, it was really good fun with the field hockey team. However, the associated pregame was most definitely the most fun part of the night.
